Sensor manufacturing process classification

source:http://www.finecomtech.com/news/gsxw/52.html   release time:2020-09-27

There are four main manufacturing processes for sensors in modern times, including integrated sensors, thin film sensors, thick film sensors and ceramic sensors.
  1, integrated sensor
The production process of integrated sensors is basically the same as that of standard silicon-based semiconductor integrated circuits. After the sensor is manufactured in an integrated manner, it can obtain a smaller size and integrate more functions. Some integrated sensors can have a part of processing functions to process the measured signal.
  2, thin film sensor
The manufacture of thin-film sensors involves advanced technologies such as nanometers. The method of making thin-film sensors is to form a thin film with sensitive materials on a dielectric substrate, that is, a substrate. Thin film sensors can also be combined with some circuit systems during production, which requires the use of hybrid processes.
  3, thick film sensor
The thick film sensor corresponds to the thin film sensor. It is also manufactured by forming a film on the substrate. The difference is that the thick film sensor is coated on a ceramic substrate and coated with a slurry of sensitive materials. The manufacturing material of thick film sensors is mostly aluminum oxide, and heat treatment is performed after the coating is formed, so that the thick film can be formed.
  4, ceramic sensor
Ceramic sensors are the application of new technology and the application of traditional materials. The ceramic material used in ceramic sensors is fine ceramics, also known as high-tech ceramics. The manufacture of ceramic sensors mainly relies on standard ceramic processes or variants of sol processes to complete appropriate After the preliminary operation, the formed element is sintered at high temperature.
The manufacturing process of the thick film sensor and the ceramic sensor have many similarities. Therefore, the manufacturing process of the thick film sensor can also be understood as a deformation of the ceramic sensor manufacturing process. There is no clear distinction between the various manufacturing processes of the sensor. Each manufacturing process has its own advantages and disadvantages, but the thick film and ceramic technologies are currently more widely used.
